Passo Durone m. 1000
Cima Séra m. 1909
Time req’d for ascent 3 hours
Time req’d for return
2 hours

This is an easy mountain hike above the western side of the Bleggio area, comprising the final northern offshoots of the mountainous chain of Val Marcia. The route leads off from the provincial road of Durone, almost at the top of the homonymous pass.
At first you follow a mule track for approx. 200 metres, after which you turn off to the left along a cart track which winds upwards through mixed woodland on the northern offshoots of the Cima Sera. After roughly an hour’s walk the track becomes almost level, leading into a coniferous wood and after a short distance you come to the Alpine farmstead Malga Stabio. This mountain pasture is situated in a pretty hollow with the beech wood at the foot of the Cima Sera at its back. It consists of two farmhouses and the relative shelters for the livestock belonging firstly to the eastern side of the grassland at Bleggio Superiore and secondly, to Saone. We recommend you to take a break here during the summer months and take supplies of drinking water.
Leaving the farmstead, follow the traces of a mule track which leads in the direction of the saddle between the Cima Serra and Monte Frisec, which you will see to the south-west. It leads to the locality ‘Spiazzola’, where there is a meadow with a panorama of the wild Val Marcia.
Turning to the left along the narrow path which leads first through woodland, then up to the ridge of the mountain and among steep meadows you reach the peak from where your eyes can sweep across the whole of south-west Trentino, from the glaciers of the Adamello and Presanella to the Brenta Dolomites as far as the Trentino Alpine foothills.
We recommend you to return along the same route.
