Passo Durone
m. 1000
Monte S.Martino m. 1449
Time req’d for ascent 1 hour
Time req’d for return 1 hour

This is a short and easy walk, though extremely rewarding from a scenic point of view once you have reached the top. Starting at the Durone pass at an elevation of 1000 metres, the route leads uphill in an easy climb with breathtaking views of the Caré Alto group.
After a half hour’s walk you arrive in the proximity of a pretty Alpine meadow situated in a hollow and dotted with typical mountain cabins. Leaving this behind on your right, the path now climbs more steeply up to the top of the mountain which is occupied by a television relay station (1449 m). Close by there are the remains of an old church and a Lombard fortification.
From here you can feast your eyes on the superb panorama of the Giudicarie group of valleys, and the Adamello-Presanella massif. The return route takes you down along a recently built road in an easy descent, very suitable for mountain bike tours.
